Job Vacancy: Project Manager - Reactor Design Evaluation and Licensing, Department of Industry Cooperation

The World Nuclear Association (Association), the international organization representing the global nuclear industry, is looking to recruit a project manager to lead its activities relating to codes and standards within the Cooperation in Reactor Design Evaluation and Licensing Working Group (CORDEL). CORDEL was created in 2007 to promote the international standardization of nuclear reactor designs and harmonization of regulatory requirements, and to act as an industry counterpart to the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency’s Multinational Design Evaluation Programme (MDEP).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the codes and standards Task Force within CORDEL, coordinating all activities, which include the organization of meetings and the publication of papers and reports. Other duties will include: supporting other CORDEL Task Forces and related activities; contributing to the mission of the Department of Industry Cooperation and the Association as required; representing the Association and CORDEL Working Group at relevant meetings/conferences.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the Association’s mission of developing best practices on safety, environmental and economic matters relating to nuclear power, as well as developing a positive attitude among decision-makers and other key stakeholders towards this technology.

Applicants should have a university degree, preferably to Master’s level in mechanical, or nuclear engineering. They should have at least three years’ professional experience related to nuclear facilities design and engineering, as well as a sound knowledge in nuclear power industry and nuclear safety.  

The candidate should have excellent coordinating and organizing skills, good interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic. He / she must be able to communicate fluently and accurately in English. Knowledge of other languages and work experience in an international environment would be an advantage.
