Argentine Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN) - The Nuclear Regulatory Authority reports to the President of Argentina and is empowered to regulate and control the nuclear activity with regard to radiological and nuclear safety, physical protection and nuclear non- proliferation issues.
Association Vincotte Nuclear (AVN) - This is a non- profit organization licensed by the Belgian authorities in the field of nuclear safety. Site includes AVN's annual report as well as an overview of nuclear power in Belgium.
Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) - The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency This is the Australian federal government agency charged with responsibility for protecting the health and safety of people, and the environment, from the harmful effects of radiation (ionizing and non- ionizing).
Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office (ASNO) - The Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office is responsible for nuclear safeguards, nuclear security and the physical protection of nuclear facilities. ASNO is responsible for ensuring that nuclear materials and nuclear items - facilities, equipment, technology and nuclear-related materials - are appropriately regulated and accounted for. ASNO is responsible for ensuring Australia's commitments under the NPT, CPPNM and the various bilateral safeguards agreements (covering supply of uranium and other issues) are met, particularly that nuclear activities are conducted for exclusively peaceful purposes).
Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA) - The Agency delineates and pursues the national policy on the safe use of atomic energy.
Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) - Formerly the Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB), the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission can best be described as the watchdog over almost all activities in Canada involving nuclear energy and materials. The website includes FAQs on the Canadian Nuclear Safety and Control Act.

Comissao Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN) - The commission is responsible for nuclear licensing and nuclear standards in Brazil. *In PORTUGESE only*
Czech State Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB) - The SUJB is a regulatory body responsible for governmental administration and supervision in the fields of uses of nuclear energy and radiation and of radiation protection.
Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) - The Egyptian AEA was established in 1955, its mandate being to enable the country of the efficient utilisation of the peaceful applications of nuclear energy. Details of current research projects are given.
Euratom Supply Agency - The Euratom Supply Agency's mission is to ensure a regular and equitable supply of nuclear fuels for EU users. Euratom's annual reports, from 1995 onwards, are available here.
Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) - The organisation not only regulates the use of nuclear energy in Finland, but also conducts research into radiation exposure. The site includes Finnish regulations on nuclear power, as well as details of Finland's two nuclear power plants.
Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) - Licensing and regulatory supervision of Hungary's nuclear facilities fall into the competence of the HAEA. Site gives details of the Paks nuclear power.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - The IAEA serves as the world's central inter- governmental forum for scientific and technical cooperation in the nuclear field. It is a specialised agency within the United Nations system. This website offers a vast range of nuclear energy-related resources.
International Nuclear Law Association (INLA) - The INLA promotes studies and the knowledge of legal problems related to the peaceful utilization of nuclear energy. In particular, it organizes congresses, discussions, lectures, conferences and seminars.
Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) - The Commssion, established in 1952, operates two research centers: the Soreq Nuclear Research Center and the Nuclear Research Center Negev. The IAEC advises the government of Israel in areas of nuclear policy and in setting priorities in nuclear research and development.
Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) - The Ministry commits to ensuring safety of nuclear energy in the field of science and technology development, especially in the operation of experimental and research reactors, and the utilization of nuclear source materials and fuel materials, as well as radioisotope generating equipment, by implementing safeguards under international agreements, responses to nuclear disasters and international cooperation related to nuclear safety regulations.
Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) - This is a technical expert organization which performs regulatory functions such as safety reviews, inspections, and development of regulatory technical standards for the regulation of nuclear power plants and radiation facilities.
Latvian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM) - The Ministry is responsible for radiation protection and nuclear safety.
Lithuanian Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) - Establishment of a nuclear safety regulating system, whose task consists in ensuring that the set safety standards meet international requirements, was commenced after Lithuania regained its independence. The functions of state regulation are fulfilled by VATESI, set up on 18 October 1991 by the resolution of the government.
Radioactive Materials Transport Division of the UK Department for Transport - This is the UK competent authority for the application of the IAEA regulations for the safe transport of radioactive materials. The website includes nationally and internationally generated documents relating to the transport of radioactive materials.
Russian Ministry for Atomic Energy (Minatom) - This is a federal regulatory body with executive authority functions to carry out the Federal policy in the field of development, production, conversion of both nuclear explosive charges and corresponding ammunition, as well as in the sphere of nuclear engineering. It executes a regulatory agency's functions in management of usage of nuclear energy, and also in licensing and coordination of activities in these spheres of federal organs' responsibility as the executive authority. *In RUSSIAN only*

Slovak Nuclear Regulatory Authority (UJD) - The primary mission of UJD is to ensure that the public health and safety are protected in different peaceful uses of nuclear energy and that the nuclear installations in Slovakia are safe and well regulated.

UK Nuclear Safety Directorate (NSD) - The NSD (a unit of the Health and Safety Executive - HSE) publishes various reports related to the safety of UK reactors, as well as its 'Nuclear Safety Newsletter', on its website.
US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) - The NRC is an independent agency established by Congress under the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 to ensure adequate protection of the public health and safety, the common defence and security, and the environment in the use of nuclear materials in the US.
