American Nuclear Society (ANS) - This broad based site contains information for anyone with an interest in nuclear science and technology, including information on nuclear power, nuclear medicine and food irradiation as well as being the official source of information on all things to do with ANS.

Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) - With the mission of promoting research and development in peaceful uses of atomic energy throughout the country, the Atomic Energy Society of Japan was established in February 1959.

Atomic Institute of the Austrian Universities (ATI) - This is the common nuclear research institute of all Austrian universities.

Belgian Nuclear Society (BNS) - The Society was founded in 1970 as an academic society 'for the advancement of science and engineering relating to the atomic nucleus' and as a meeting point for the Belgians involved with nuclear energy in various organizations.

Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association (ABEN) - *In PORTUGESE only*

British Nuclear Energy Society (BNES) - The Society, established in 1962, is the leading learned body in the UK for all persons interested in nuclear energy. Its website includes details of forthcoming events and information about the BNES/INucE journal 'Nuclear Future'. Details are also given of its regional branches and the Young Generation group.

Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) - The CNA's site contains information about the association, its forthcoming conferences and publications, plus concise information sheets and more in- depth information on areas of interest.

Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) - The Canadian Nuclear Society was established in 1979. The CNS is dedicated to the exchange of information in the field of applied nuclear science and technology. This encompasses all aspects of nuclear energy, uranium, fission and other nuclear technologies such as occupational and environmental protection, medical diagnosis and treatment, the use of radioisotopes, and food preservation.

Canadian Nuclear Workers Council (CNWC) - This is an organization of workers represented by unions or other employee groups working in various areas of Canada's nuclear industry, including electric power utilities, the uranium mining and processing industry and in nuclear research.

Chinese Nuclear Society (CNS) - The society was established in 1980. It is a non-for-profit organization on nuclear science, technology and engineering. Its object is to unify the nuclear professionals to promote the advancement and peaceful use of nuclear science and technology.

Council for Nuclear Fuel Cycle (CNFC) - The CNFC is a Japanese non-profit entity for the promotion of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, especially for the establishment of nuclear fuel recycling. The CNFC promotes the peaceful uses of plutonium in consideration of the abolishment of nuclear arsenals from the earth, particularly in its journal 'Plutonium'.

Croatian Nuclear Society (HND) - The aim of the society, established in 1992, is to improve science and procedures by the peacful use of nuclear sciences, technologies, and the appropriate security, as well as to introduce the public with the need and specialities of using nuclear technology.

Deutsches Atomforum eV (DAtF) - The DAtF is a private, non-profit-making association which promotes technical and scientific developments in the field of nuclear energy and informs the public about the possibilities, benefits and risks associated with this established and forward-looking technology.

European Nuclear Society (ENS) - This is the umbrella organisation for national nuclear societies. It organises regular conferences on both technical and non- technical aspects of nuclear energy and produces several publications.

Finnish Nuclear Society (ATS) - The Society was founded in 1966 and now has some 650 individual members, of which there are about 30 young members and about 20 supporting corporate members.

Finnish Youth for Nuclear Energy (YdinEnergiaNuoret) - This is the Finnish registered youth association for nuclear power.

Framatome Owners Group (FROG) - The group was set up in October 1991 by five utilities that were either operating or building nuclear power plant units incorporating a Framatome nuclear steam supply system or nuclear island. The aim of FROG is to pool the expertise of its members and of Framatome itself in an effort to increase unit availability and improve NPP safety and efficiency. Much of the site is accessible to members only.

French Nuclear Energy Society (SFEN) - The SFEN, Societe Francaise d'Energie Nucleaire, has a double purpose: as a learned scientific society, and to provide information. Site includes useful fact sheets and statistics for nuclear power in France and worldwide.

Hungarian Nuclear Society (MNT) - The Hungarian Nuclear Society was founded in May 1990. *In HUNGARIAN only*

Indian Nuclear Society (INS) - The society was formed in January 1988 with the objective of promoting nuclear science, engineering and technology in the country.

Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) - The INMM was founded in 1958 as a scientific and educational organization committed to advancing quality nuclear materials practices worldwide. The INMM's mission is to provide effective leadership and professional development in the field of nuclear materials management. Site includes details of the institute's annual meeting.

Institution of Nuclear Engineers (INucE) - The INucE is a nominated Body of the UK Engineering Council. The site includes information about careers in nuclear engineering.

International Nuclear Societies Council (INSC) - INSC exists to promote the benefits of the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology. The Council is an organization made up of Nuclear Societies from all over the world. Member Societies represent more than 50 000 nuclear professionals. Contains an html version of the INSC's publication - 'A Vision for the Second Fifty Years of Nuclear Energy'.

International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) - This is an international network for the new generation of professionals in the nuclear field.

Italian Nuclear Association (AIN) - This is a not-for-profit organization that includes a wide range of competence and expertise in the field of nuclear science and technology in Italy.

Korean Nuclear Society (KNS) - The society was established in 1969 for the purpose of contributing to the development of nuclear science and technology, pursuing the academic and technological progress, and promoting cooperation between the members.

Malaysian Nuclear Society (MNS) - Includes a nuclear glossary in English and Malay.

Netherlands Nuclear Society (NNS) - The NNS has about 1000 members, mostly scientists and engineers in the nuclear sector.

Nuclear Society of Slovenia (NSS) - Society of Slovenian professionals in the field of nuclear sciences and nuclear technology.

Pacific Nuclear Council (PNC) - The PNC is composed of nuclear societies of all of the nations around the Pacific Rim. The principal present function of the Council is to locate and organize the series of biennial Pacific Basin Nuclear Conferences.

Polish Nuclear Society (PTN) - Many of the pages in English are still under construction.

Professional Reactor Operator Society (NucPros) - The site contains information about the Society, International Nuclear News, Members Only Section with open forum and discussions on current issues that are important to nuclear control room operators and training organizations.

Romanian Nuclear Energy Association (AREN) - The association was established in 1990 and now has more more than 250 individual members and over 10 collective members from the Romanian nuclear power industry.

Slovak Nuclear Society (SNUS) - This is a voluntary learned scientific and technical association of members with their professional and study interests related to nuclear technology, nuclear power, and the use of ionization radiation.

US Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) - The Society of Nuclear Medicine is an international scientific and professional organization founded in 1954 to promote the science, technology and practical application of nuclear medicine. Its 16 000 members are physicians, technologists and scientists specializing in the research and practice of nuclear medicine.

Women in Nuclear International (WIN) - This is a worldwide association of women working professionally in the fields of nuclear energy and applications of radiation.

Women's Energy Network (WEN) - This is a grouping of women energy professionals and women interested in energy issues in Japan. Its main activities are in the communications field and the site briefly describes the aims and activities and gives contact details. *In JAPANESE only
