Mr Omer F Brown II is a partner in the Washington DC law firm Harmon & Wilmot LLP. His law practice emphasises nuclear energy and risk management. Mr Brown is a frequent writer, and has lectured on nuclear issues in 19 US states and 14 countries. He is one of three US members of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Contact Group on Liability Associated with Nuclear Safety Assistance Programmes for Eastern Europe, and is the only private sector member of the Ukrainian/G-7 Joint Task Force on Ukrainian Nuclear Legislation. He co-chaired a 1995 international conference in Kiev on Ukraine’s accession to the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage. He is counsel to two ad hoc groups of American contractors: the Contractors International Group on Nuclear Liability (CIGNL) and the Energy Contractors Price-Anderson Group. He has served as Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey, and Senior Trial Attorney, US Department of Energy. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1969 and Cornell University Law School in 1972. |
