Mr Gerald Doucet obtained a BA from the University of Ottawa and an MA in economics from the University of Carleton. From 1967–81 he carried out various roles of an economic or policy nature with the Canadian government. In 1982 he became Senior Vice President of the Retail Council of Canada, a position he held for five years. From 1988–92, Mr Doucet was Agent General in Europe for the Province of Ontario, and from 1992–94 he was President and Founding Director Europe for the Europe-Canada Development Association. In 1994 he became President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association, until taking up his present position as Secretary General of the World Energy Council in September 1998. |
