Dr Peter Wilmer has spent most of his professional career in the nuclear industry. He held a number of positions in the UK’s Central Electricity Generating Board and its successor companies over a period of 27 years, spanning research, engineering, operations and commercial areas, almost all of which had a nuclear fuel cycle connection. His most recent position in the UK before leaving British Energy in 1997 was as Director of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Liabilities, which included responsibility for key aspects of the privatisation of the company. After a short period doing consultancy work, Dr Wilmer joined the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency in Paris as Head of Nuclear Development, his present position. His current role entails providing authoritative, reliable information on nuclear technologies, economics, strategies and resources to governments for use in policy analysis and decision making. |
