Mr Tokio Kanoh

Mr Tokio Kanoh is a member of the House of Councillors, the upper chamber of the Japanese parliament. Before his election in 1998, he served in the energy industry for more than 40 years. He held the position of Executive Vice President of the Tokyo Electric Power Company from 1996, while also serving as Chairman of the Uranium Institute. In addition, he is Vice Chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). He received a BA degrees in law from Tokyo University and in economics from Keio University. He has been a lecturer at Tokyo, Keio and Harvard Universities.
