Mr Doug McRoberts joined British Energy on the company's formation in 1995 as Director, Public Relations, responsible for developing and co-ordinating PR strategy during privatisation and the group's development. Previously he was Media Relations Manager for Nuclear Electric, which was at that time the world's largest nuclear-only utility. He has also worked for the UK Atomic Energy Authority in a senior PR role. His early career was as a broadcast news producer, editor and presenter with the BBC. He is also ordained as a Presbyterian minister in the Church of Scotland, and is still active in the ministry on a part-time basis. Mr McRoberts was educated at Glasgow University and Trinity College, holding a BD degree and a postgraduate qualification in communications and psychology. He is also President of NucNet, the international nuclear news wire service, and chairs the NucNet board. |
