Norman
Askew was educated at Durham University, Aston University and the London
School of Business. He started his career at the TI Group, where he became
President and Managing Director of TI Aerospace and Titeflex International
based in the United States, responsible for aerospace and automotive operations
in the USA, Canada, France and the UK. He was appointed Chief Executive
of East Midlands Electricity in 1992, and from there was appointed President
and CEO of Virginia Power in 1997. During this period he also served as
Executive Vice President of Dominion Resources, the parent company of Virginia
Power. During his tenure, Virginia Power underwent the change from monopoly
supplier to participant in a competitive market. He was appointed Chief
Executive of British Nuclear Fuels in March 2000. He is also Chairman of
Henlys Group plc, a manufacturer and distributor of public service vehicles
in the UK, East Asia and North America. |
