Peter
Fraser has been working in the Energy Diversification Division of the International
Energy Agency since April 1998. He is the primary author of reviews of electricity
reforms in the Netherlands, Japan, Spain, the Republic of Korea and the
Czech Republic. His current work focuses on the performance and impacts
of energy market reforms. Between 1989 and 1998, he held a variety of energy
policy advisory positions in the Ministry of Energy in the province of Ontario,
Canada, including nuclear power advisor, climate change policy advisor and,
most recently, senior advisor on electricity utility restructuring. His
previous professional experience was in field of nuclear power. From 1982
to 1985, he was a reactor safety analyst for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited,
designers of the CANDU nuclear power system. In 1987-88, he was the Staff
Scientist for the Ontario Nuclear Safety Review, a technical and scientific
review commissioned by the Government of Ontario to examine the safety of
Ontario Hydro's nuclear power plants. Peter Fraser's educational qualifications
include a Bachelor of Science (Toronto), a Master's of Science (Queen's
University, Kingston, Ontario) both specialising in physics, and a Master's
degree in Environmental Studies (York University, Toronto) specialising
in energy policy. |
