Manning Muntzing has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1975. This has included the representation of clients before the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as well as other US government agencies. His activities have covered a broad spectrum of US and international issues, including licensing of nuclear power plants, restart of troubled plants, and generic rulemaking on safety issues. Manning Muntzing has been active in the American Nuclear Society for many years and served as its President in 1982-83. His international activities include co-founding the International Nuclear Energy Academy and serving as its Chairman. He also co-founded the Pacific Nuclear Council and served as its Co-chairman from 1985 to 1989. He was elected Chairman of the International Nuclear Societies Council for the 1993-1994 term. He is a member of the board of the International Nuclear Law Association and was its Chairman during 1998-99. Manning Muntzing holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, and LLB and JD degrees from Harvard University Law School. He also attended the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He is admitted to the practice of law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and West Virginia, and before the US Supreme Court. From 1971 to 1975, he served as Director of Regulation, US Atomic Energy Commission. |
