Biography of Parvez Butt

Dr Parvez Butt has been Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) since 2001. He brings to his assignment, a richness of technological accomplishments, a wealth of professional expertise, a diversity of management experience and an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of development of atomic energy. He joined PAEC in 1962 and holds and M.S. degree in Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering from the University of Toronto and was a member of the KANUPP Design team. He established various equipment manufacturing workshops to develop all aspects of Pakistan`s nuclear programme. As member (power) of PAEC he has been responsible for all activities related to Nuclear Fuel and Power; and has been decorated with prestigious national awards. A Governor of WANO (TC), Mr. Butt has written/presented many articles/reports on indigenisation of the nuclear industry in Pakistan.
