Peter Wilmer

Dr Peter Wilmer has spent most of his professional career in the nuclear industry. He held a number of positions in the Central Electricity Generating Board (UK) and its successor companies that spanned the research and development, engineering, operations and commercial areas. When he left British Energy plc in 1997, he was Director of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Liabilities, a post that included responsibility for key aspects of the privatisation of the company. After a short period as a consultant, Peter Wilmer joined the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency in Paris in 1998, as Head of Nuclear Development. His current role in that post entails providing authoritative, reliable information on nuclear technologies, economics, strategies and resources to governments for use in policy analyses and decision-making.
