Jose Alberto Acevedo Monroy
Jose Acevedo graduated in Economics and Political Science from the Mexico´s Autonomous Technological Institute, known as ITAM.
He has a Master´s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University´s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has vast experience in Government and in the Academic field.
Among the high ranking positions he has held in President Vicente Fox´s presidential term stand out the following:
• Chief of Staff for the Minister of Energy in charge of the Secretariat for Strategic Studies for the future of the Mexican energy sector.
• General Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum Mexico 2002.
• Chief Legislative Liaison Officer for the Ministry of Economy.
In the Mexican House of Representatives he was Director of Economic and Social Affairs for the Miguel Estrada Foundation, a famous PAN Think Tank. In Harvard University´s Institute for International Development he was a researcher.
He teaches Public Policy in the Master´s Degree Program at the ITAM.
On October 1 st 2005, right after Mr Acevedo´s 33 rd Birthday, President Vicente Fox appointed him as Under-Secretary for Electricity.
