Mark Herlach, a partner with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, is an expert on international law, particularly energy and cross-border transactions, trade, and dispute resolution. He advises clients on all aspects of international business, including the structuring of transactions, foreign investment and business practices. Mark has played a key role in resolving significant international disputes involving such products as automobiles, flat panel displays, semiconductors, steel, and uranium. He recently served as lead outside counsel in British Nuclear Fuels' $5.4 billion sale of Westinghouse Electric Company to Toshiba Corporation and previously handled a series of cross-border transactions for BNFL. Mark has extensive experience in disputes involving complex economic issues and government regulation. He has served as a Trinational Panelist under the North American Free Trade Agreement and is a member of the Advisory Board of the North American Free Trade & Investment Report. Mark is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Note Editor of The Michigan Law Review.
