Pierre-René Bauquis
Pierre-René Bauquis is a graduate in Geology and Mining from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie (ENSG), Nancy, and Economics and Management from the ENSPM (IFP School). He also holds a degree in Nuclear Geochemistry. After 5 years at the as an economist and professor Institut Francais du Pétrole (IFP), he worked in the Total Group for 30 years.
After 20 years of management positions in natural gas in France and abroad, Mr Bauquis was successively Head of North Sea, Head of Group Strategy and Planning, and Special Advisor to the CEO, Thierry Desmarest. He is currently Associate Professor at ENSPM (IFP School) and Professor at TPA (Total Professeurs Associés). He is an expert advisor to the Energy and Environment Committee of the French Academy of Technology, a member of the Société Francaise d'Energie Nucléaire (SFEN), of AEPN (Environmentalists for Nuclear) and numerous learned societies. With his daughter Emmanuelle Bauquis, he wrote Oil and Natural Gas – Understanding the Future, published in 2004.
