Mr Marvin S. Fertel

Mr Marvin S. Fertel is Senior Vice President, Nuclear Infrastructure Support & International Programs, at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) in Washington DC. He has almost 30 years of experience consulting to electricity utilities on issues related to designing, siting, licensing and management for both fossil and nuclear plants. He has worked in executive positions with organisations such as Ebasco, Management Analysis Company, Delian, and Tenera. Between 1980 and 1990, he primarily focused on management consulting with nuclear utilities, assisting with troubled plant situations and identifying desirable improvements in other plants. In November 1990 he joined the US Council for Energy Awareness as Vice President, Technical Programs, and before assuming his current position he was NEI's Vice President, Nuclear Economics and Fuel Supply. Mr Fertel holds a BS degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, an MS in civil engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Technology in New York, and has participated in the doctorate of public administration programme at New York University.
