DIDIER BEUTIER
Didier Beutier is Vice President for Economic and Prospective Studies in AREVA’s Corporate Strategy Department. The team he has been leading since 2001 focuses on the assessment of the short term and long term potential for nuclear energy, taking into account market trends, cost analysis, technology changes, energy policies, environmental policies and broader economics.
Didier Beutier combines 20 years’ thorough experience of the nuclear industry with expertise in process engineering, cost assessment, environmental impact assessment and energy economics. From 1992 to 2000 whilst at COGEMA, he entered and then managed a consulting department (NUSYS) with around 20 consultants offering services to the nuclear industry in various fields of expertise: cost assessments, environmental impact assessments, regulatory and policy-making issues, and public acceptance.
His former professional experience includes process engineering in the non-ferrous metals mining and metallurgical industry (IMETAL, 1978-1986), process modelling for uranium enrichment and R&D strategic evaluation in the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) (1986-1992). Didier Beutier is a Graduate Engineer of the Paris School of Mines (1971) and Doctor-Engineer in Chemical Engineering (1979).
