KAORU KIKUYAMA

Dr Kaoru Kikuyama joined IBM Japan in 2006. As a nuclear expert, she leads energy projects in the IBM global team and directs nuclear business in Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining IBM, she was with Japan Atomic Industrial Forum for 13 years. JAIF is a trade association for the nuclear industry and represents nearly 500 member companies all over the world. As Senior Director, International Programme, she directed multilateral projects such as nuclear non-proliferation and climate change and bilateral projects including Japan-US and Japan-EU collaboration.

She was the JAIF representative in Washington 2003-05. Throughout her time at JAIF, she represented the Japanese nuclear industry at various international working groups and committees.

Dr Kikuyama graduated from Universities of Keio, Keele, and London and holds a PhD in international politics.
