ANTHONY WETHERALL

Mr. Anthony Christian Wetherall has worked in the Office of Legal Affairs of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria for nearly seven years. He has experience in the provision of legal advice on various international nuclear law issues, including, nuclear safety, security and liability for nuclear damage. He has also been involved in the provision of legislative assistance to IAEA Member States, including, assistance in the drafting of comprehensive nuclear legislation.

His recent nuclear liability activities include the co-drafting of a nutshell guide to nuclear liability, which is expected to be published by the IAEA later in 2008. He has also recently created an online calculator available on the IAEA's website at http://ola.iaea.org/CSCND/Default.asp which applies the formula in Article IV of the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage (CSC). The calculator will assist countries in determining the amounts to be contributed to the international compensation fund foreseen in the CSC.

A member of the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA), past presentations include the 2007 INLA biennial congress, various IAEA international meetings, seminars and conferences, as well as in other fora.
