NILENDRA NIGAM

Nilendra Nigam is Exective Vice President, Heavy Engineering Division, Larson and Tourbo Limited. He is also Vice Chairman of the Indian Atomic Industrial Forum (IAIF).

He received his BTech from Kharagpur in 1968, and then gained an MSc in engineering from London University in 1975, whilst working for the Royal Navy. After this he gained professional training with IKL Germany from 1982 to 1984.

He has attended numerous management training courses, including completing the Jamanlal Bajaj IMS from 1971 to 1972. He has extensive experience across numerous industries. His governmental roles have included industrial (naval dock yard) 1969-1972 and 1977-1980; teaching (IIT, Kharagpur) 1976-1977; and design (naval design) 1980-1982 and 1985-1990.

His experiences in the corporate sector are also extensive, and his current responsibilities as Executive Vice President include managing and supervising the following areas: Cluster Head - Nuclear, Aerospace and Defence Weapon Systems and Sensors, Marine, Marine Equipment, Nuclear Power, Aerospace and Aviation Business Heads; Heavy Engineering Division (HED) manufacturing facilities at Coimbatore, Talegaon (Pune) and part of manufacturing facilities at Hazira (Surat) and also Administrative Head of Process Plant Equipment Business and Production Centres at Powai (Mumbai); QA, QC and NDE at Powai; Welding Engineering & Metallurgy at Powai; and in Technology Development Centres for Electronics, Mechanical and Process Plant
