Aris Candris

ARIS CANDRIS

Aris Candris became President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company on July 1, 2008.

Prior to this appointment, Dr Candris served as senior vice president of the Nuclear Fuel business unit and, previously, of the Nuclear Services business unit. He earlier held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in the Nuclear Services and Nuclear Technology organizations. He began his Westinghouse career in 1975 as a senior engineer in the former Advanced Reactor Division.

Dr Candris holds a BA from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, and an MS and a PhD in nuclear engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Boards of Trustees for Carnegie Mellon University, Transylvania University and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Carnegie Institute of Technology and is a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute and the World Nuclear Association boards of directors.
