KAORU KIKUYAMA

Dr Kaoru Kikuyama joined IBM Japan, Ltd in 2006. As a nuclear expert, she has been leading nuclear projects for IBM and directing nuclear business in Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining IBM, Dr Kikuyama was with the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF) for 13 years. JAIF is a trade association for the nuclear industry and represents nearly 500 member companies all over the world. As Senior Director, International Program, she directed multilateral projects such as nuclear non-proliferation and climate change, and bilateral ones including Japan-US and Japan-EU collaboration.

She was the JAIF representative in Washington, 2003-2005. Throughout her time at JAIF, she represented the Japanese nuclear industry at various international working groups and committees.

Dr Kikuayama graduated from the Universities of Keio, Keele and London and holds a PhD in international politics.
