GALIMZAN O. PIRMATOV

Mr Pirmatov was born in 1972 and graduated with honours from Novosibirsk State University in 1993 with a degree in mechanics and applied mathematics. He also obtained an MBA from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research in 1995 and a second MBA degree at Atkinson Graduate School of Management, Willamette University in 2001.

Mr Pirmatov started his career in 1994 as a financial manager of JV Altyn Tas. In 1999, he became the Investment Director of AIG Silk Road Capital Management. Between 2002 and 2004, he worked in the U.S.-based AES Corporation’s headquarters, held the positions of Chief Financial Officer of AES KievOblEnergo and Chief Commercial Officer of AES Ukraine in Kiev. Since 2005, he held positions as Head of Project Finance, Managing Director, and Head of Investment Banking with the JSC Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan. Between 2007 and 2009, Mr. Pirmatov worked as the Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan.
